I lived in Iowa City, Iowa for years. Nicknamed by some the People's Republic of Iowa City because of the number of liberals and others much further to the left. There was a large contingent of Iowa City Deadheads. The band used to tour quite a bit in the midwest until they started concentrating more on longer runs in the bigger cities. I saw the 78, 81, 82 and 84 shows that you mention. 84 was the last show in the state. After that we got our fixes at Alpine Valley and the Twin Cities.
